Academic Standing
Some programs have specific requirements concerning satisfactory academic standing. Consult the specific program section in the Graduate Calendar for details.
The final standing in a course is recorded with grade points assigned to letter grades.
Qualifying Students are graded in accordance with the undergraduate grading scheme (see the current Undergraduate Calendar for details).
Master's students must attain a minimum B- in each course taken in fulfilment of the graduate degree requirements.
Doctoral students must attain a minimum B in each course taken in fulfilment of the doctoral degree requirements. Some programs have additional requirements concerning satisfactory performance; consult the specific program section in the Graduate Calendar for details.

Courses in music, psychology and social work which are identified as practicum courses, or which have a significant practicum component (MU504, MU507, MU508, MU603, MU604, MU607 and MU610; PS615 and PS625; SK541, SK549, SK600*, SK649 and SK810), EN600, SK649, SK893 and TH681* are graded on an S (satisfactory)/F (failure) basis.
CH671, CH672, CH673, GG691, GV702 and SK892 are graded on a CR (credit)/NCR (no credit) basis.
BH820, BH821, BU677, BU777, BU787, BU891, CC606, CQ600, EN777, EN781, EN783, GG891, GV791, GV792, HI700, HI703, HI707, HI708, KP601, KP611, KP801, KP891, PP688, PS846, PS847, PS848, PS856, PS876, PS877, PS878, PS891, PS892, RE690, RE702, RE800, RE801, RE898, SJ690, SK621, SK622, SK628, SK630°, SK648, SK820, SK894 and SY603 are graded on a Pass/Fail basis.
A dissertation/thesis/major research paper grade (unless otherwise indicated) is recorded as CPL (completed).
