The Bachelor of Education program is designed to meet all Ontario legislated requirements, and incorporates the Standards of Practice and Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession of the Ontario College of Teachers.

Campus Transfer Requests

To request a transfer from one BEd campus to another, between Year 1 and Year 2 of the program, BEd students must file a petition by May 1 at the completion of Year 1 of the Bachelor of Education Program. Petitions would be considered on the grounds of extraordinary circumstances related to a need to change campuses.

The following criteria must be met for a petition to be considered:

1. There is space in the program where the Teacher Candidate is requesting to transfer.

2. The Teacher Candidate is in good standing in the program. This would mean the Teacher Candidate is not on academic probation, has passed both Practicum 1 and 2, meets the established Professional Competencies for the program, and has met the minimum GPA/grade requirement in all completed courses in the Bachelor of Education.

3. For students in the Junior/Intermediate Division, their teachable is available in the BEd program, on the campus being requested.

4. The BEd student did not receive a scholarship to attend a particular campus when they were accepted into the program.

If the petition is filed after May 1 after Year 1 and before the start of Year 2, it will be at the discretion of the Administration of the BEd program to determine if the petition can be processed. Petitions to transfer between the Fall and Winter semesters or during the Fall and Winter semesters will not be approved.
