Master of Finance/Master of Science in Management Analytics

The Master of Finance and Master of Science in management analytics double degree program is designed to train students to be interdisciplinary specialists in finance and data analytics. The integrated interdisciplinary curriculum is combined with experiential learning for students to gain comprehensive knowledge both in finance and data analytics, as well as hands-on experience for solving real world finance problems using sophisticated analytical tools and quantitative models.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Master of Finance and MSc in management analytics double degree program, students must meet the general admission requirements of the university, and must possess a 4-year degree in business, economics, or a quantitative discipline such as operations research, mathematics, statistics, actuarial sciences, physics, chemistry, life sciences or engineering sciences. To be considered, applicants should have

  • a minimum overall GPA of B+ in the final two years of full-time study; 
  • a course in each of calculus and statistics with a grade of at least B+ in each; 
  • an intermediate level course in each of finance, economics, and accounting with a grade of at least B+ in each. Achieving 50th percentile in the three subjects in the CFA level I examination is considered to be equivalent; 
  • the GMAT with a minimum score of 620 (or GRE equivalent). GMAT can be waived for applicants who passed the CFA level I examination.

Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential to graduate studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. Applicants whose first language is not English and who have not completed an undergraduate or graduate degree at an institution where English is the language of instruction are required to provide evidence of English language proficiency. Normally this evidence is a score of at least 100 in TOEFL or at least 7 in IELTS.
