General BSc Science

The General BSc Science program consists of 15.0 credits, a maximum 7.0 of which may be at the junior (100) level, and a minimum 5.0 of which must be senior Science credits. Requirements are as follows:

Math/Statistics requirement (1.0 credit):
MA100 (or one of MA101, MA102, MA103);
ST230 or ST231 (See Program Note 1)

Junior Science requirement (3.0 credits chosen from the following):
BI110 and BI111;
CH110 and CH111;
CP104 and CP164;
GG101 and GL102;
PC141 and PC142 (or PC131 and PC132);
PS101 and PS102

Senior Science credits (4.5 credits)
200-, 300-, or 400-level Science credits (see Program Note 1)

Senior Elective Credits (3.0 credits)
200-, 300-, or 400-level courses in any discipline (see Program Notes 3 and 4)

Elective Credits (3.5 credits)
Any additional courses (see Program Notes 3 and 4)

Program Notes

  1. Program requires at least 5.0 senior credits from the following courses and subject codes: BI, CH, CP, DATA, GG/GESC (Physical geography only), select courses from the department of Health Sciences (HE) (HE201, HE300, HE303, HE330, HE340A, HE340E, HE368, HE431, HE432, HE435, HE437, HE440H, HE440P, HE440Q, HE440S, HE440T, HE440V) and the department of Health Studies (HS202, HS204, HS206, HS220, HS300, HS304, HS308HS315, HS324, HS326, HS340, HS409)HN, KP, MA, PC or PS (PS courses must have a 6 as the middle digit e.g., PS26x), ST, WASC, and other approved senior science credits.
  2. Program is a graduation-only option; it may be declared at the time of applying to graduate.
  3. A maximum of 7.0 of 15.0 total credits are permitted at the junior (100) level.
  4. 1.0 credit is required outside the Faculty of Science and Department of Health Studies courses noted in Program Note 1. (However GG102 may be taken to satisfy part of this requirement)
  5. This program may not be combined with any other program.
  6. Graduation requires a minimum GPA of 4.0 and a Science GPA of 4.0.
  7. A maximum of two Minors and Options may be declared. Adjunct credentials may have additional requirements.
  8. A minimum of 6.0 senior credits must be completed at Laurier.
