RCPA Performing Arts Diploma—Laurier Program Structure
Laurier has a partnership agreement through which RCPA graduates, having earned at least a 75% average overall, can complete the Honours BMus in Community Music in an additional 2 years of study at Laurier. RCPA graduates earn admission to the BMus Community Music program through the normal selection procedures.
To earn a BMus degree in Community Music, RCPA graduates shall complete the following courses at WLU:
- MU240, MU242, MU243, MU295K* or MU295G*, MU340, MU341
- 2.5 Credits from: MU251T, MU265, MU267, MU269, MU274, MU275, MU310, MU342, MU343, MU344, MU440*, MU441*, MU472, MU473
- 0.5 credit Music elective at the 200-level or above.
- 3.5 credits of Music or Non-music electives to total 10.0 credits.
Laurier–RCPA Performing Arts Diploma Program Structure
Laurier has a partnership agreement through which Laurier students can complete the Honours BMus in Voice Performance at Laurier and the Performing Arts College Diploma at Randolph College (15.0 credits at Laurier and 5.0 credits at RCPA). WLU students attend years 1–3 at Laurier, earning admission to the Voice Performance concentration in Year 3, and complete their degree by attending RCPA for 6 intensive terms of study (3-year college diploma completed intensively over 2 calendar years.)
In order to be eligible to complete their studies at RCPA, students
admitted to WLU for years 1–3 will complete 3.5 credits of 100-level MU
courses, 10.0 credits of MU courses at the 200, 300, or 400-level, and
1.5 credits non-music elective(any level), with a minimum music GPA of
7.0. Students on the WLU–RCPA pathway will complete a 30-minute recital
as part of their MU390B‡ course.

- 2.5 credits Music History: MU100, MU270, MU271, MU291,MU375
- 4.5 credits Applied Study: MU190A*, MU290A*/B, MU390B‡, MU294, MU391
- 1.5–2.0 credits Ensemble: MU181, and 2 of MU298*, MU281, MU381
- 1.0–1.5 Credits Music Electives to complete 10.0 MU credits at the 200-level or higher.
- 1.5 credits Non-music electives
WLU students must earn admission to RCPA according to the normal selection process of RCPA, which consists of a live audition with separate components in each sub-discipline of acting, singing, and dancing. WLU students who earn a GPA of at least 5.00 in the Music Theory courses shall earn exemption from THE.101, THE.102, and THE.103 at RCPA.
RCPA Performing Arts Diploma—Laurier Program Structure
Laurier has a partnership agreement through which RCPA graduates, having earned at least a 75% average overall, can complete the Honours BMus in Self-Directed Studies in an additional 2 years of study at Laurier. RCPA graduates earn admission to the BMus program through the normal selection procedures for the Common-Year music programs.
To earn a BMus degree in Self-Directed Studies, RCPA graduates shall complete at least 10.0 credits while at Laurier, of which:
- At least 6.5 MU credits at the 200, 300, or 400-level.
- At least 0.5 credits of applied study at the 200, 300, or 400-level (x90A or x96 courses);
- At least 1.0 credit 200, 300, or 400-level from each of the “Culture and Society” and “Style and Structure” categories of courses (defined in the course calendar and linked below);
- At least 3.0 credits and no more than 5.0 credits at the 200, 300, or 400-level from any single category “Culture and Society,” “Performance and Production” and “Style and Structure."
- At least 3.0 MU credits at the 300-level.
- At least 1.0 MU credit at the 400-level.
- No more than a 0.5-credit from the MU442–444 series of courses.
- Additional Music or Non-Music electives to total 10.0 credits.
