Not Accountable
Not Accountable status may be approved by a Faculty
Petitions Committee when a student experiences documented extenuating
circumstances. This designation is intended for exceptional situations that
could not be addressed through a course drop, as students are able to drop
courses until the last day of classes. When a term is approved as Not
Accountable, the words “Not Accountable” appear on the official transcript for
that term. All courses in the term are recorded as WD (Withdrawn), are not
included in GPA calculations, and do not count as an attempt.
Not Accountable status applies to the entire
academic term only and cannot be applied to individual courses. Requests to
designate selected courses within a term as Not Accountable will not be
considered and this regulation is not appealable. Not Accountable terms
are not eligible for a tuition refund or for the tuition fee appeal process, as
the courses remain on the official transcript.
