This course explores the foundational ideas, key debates, and historical thinkers that have shaped modern political thought and our understanding of politics, power, and governance. Students will be introduced to key political concepts and works that advanced them, including equality, rights, liberty, tyranny, democracy, colonialism and anti-colonialism, socialism, and oppression, discussing their historical emergence and contested meaning today.
