The media and cultural industries not only shape social understandings of and attitudes toward work but also are themselves sites of labour. Themes to be explored may include: working conditions in the media and cultural industries; theories of cultural labour; workforce inequalities in/and cultural production; media representations of work, workers, and workplaces; cultures of work; work and identity; communication as labour; digital mediations of work; and collective organizing.
