Foundations and Applications of Mathematics

This course introduces students to mathematical reasoning and investigates ideas and methods of advanced mathematics. Examples and applications of Mathematics in real-world problems are discussed. Topics include number systems, basic set theory, counting, functions and relations, elementary logic including logical connectives, basic counting and combinatorics.Use of precise mathematical language and notations will be emphasized.
