This course provides an overview of restorative practices, its history, and its use in education including challenges and benefits in its implementation. Restorative practices are discussed as a theory, pedagogy, and an action-oriented approach for conflict resolution and supporting students and the school-community interface. This seminar course uses personal experiences of the instructor and participants as a starting point. Sharing circles are used for instructional purposes requiring active participation.
