This course requires a major research paper that integrates a student's graduate music therapy experience with their research interest. Students learn how to conceptualize, implement, write, and disseminate music therapy research. Students work with a research supervisor to develop their research topic and focus, write a proposal, and complete their research study.

Although students enrol in the course in the spring term, they begin the process of conducting their research in fall term alongside MU606, with a research supervisor. The research continues through winter term and students are expected to complete this course in the spring term.
