This course examines the relation between Past Violences and their representation through the implementation of politics of remembrance, reparation and reconciliation. The course examines official and unofficial practices of collective memorialization in contemporary societies, from 1945 to present. The course invites students to explore the difference between memory and history and to analyze and reflect on the way the past affects the way to represent the present and to imagine the future.
