Introduction to Mathematical Cognition and Exceptionalities

This course explores exceptionalities in mathematics, including delays in typically developing children. The course content will include an introduction to mathematical cognition, an overview of cognitive and developmental disabilities in mathematics, and teaching and learning strategies and interventions for atypically and typically developing children (those without known cognitive or biological delays). Exemption: This course is open to undergraduate students or graduate students who have completed an introductory level course in cognitive or developmental psychology contingent on space following Bachelor of Education registration.
Exclusions
If taken in Education minor, cannot be counted as an EU course in BEd.
