Teacher Candidates complete Practicum One in a Laurier Partner School over 5 weeks in the first term of Year One. The Practicum One block is divided into two parts: a 2-week block in mid-term and a 3-week block at the end of the term. During the first two weeks of Practicum One, Teacher Candidates will observe, reflect, and assist the associate teacher in a variety of ways. under the supervision of the associate teacher, Teacher Candidates should assume responsibility for teaching 25% of the associate teacher’s instructional time.
