0.5 Credit

Hours per week:
  • Lecture/Discussion: 3

This course explores contemporary (1965 onwards) music in Canadian contexts from a musico-analytical and performative perspective. Music that suggests the mixing of diverse genres and cultural traditions will be given precedence to reflect the multicultural nature of traditions in Canada. Student projects will foreground hybrid relationships between and among contemporary musics in Canada through an intradisciplinary union of musicology, analysis, and/or performance.
