A study of digital synthesis, sampling and signal processing with an emphasis on musical composition and sound design. Students will become acquainted with a microcomputer based ‘studio’, which will be used to produce several short compositions or works of sound design. The course will also cover other related technical, diverse cultural, historical and aesthetic topics. Culmination of this course is class performances of short completed creative projects.
