MU136° facilitates the acquisition of the Musical Skills sequence-level objectives in diatonic music of foundational complexity. Melodies will include stepwise motion and skips within the tonic triad, in the major and minor modes, in simple and compound meters, including note values as short as the division of the beat. Rhythmic exercises will include note values as short as the subdivision of the beat in simple meters with a quarter-note beat, and note values as short as the division of the beat in 6/8 time, without syncopation.
