0.5 Credit

To examine the ethical role of business as an agent in building resilient societies, and to develop the ethical reasoning capacity of managers in a contemporary context. The focus is on current and emerging ethical business issues that are impacting and shaping society, such as automation and work, technology and privacy, growing income disparity, gene editing, fast fashion and robo-ethics, for example. Various philosophical positions are considered and discussed through extensive dialogue in small group and in plenary. Students develop a broad perspective of the role of business in society, build competence in developing constructive policy positions for business, government and social stakeholders, and strengthen capacity for articulating their own considered views.
