Through five thematic forays in contextualized biography, Heroes and Legends, Pushing and Breaking Boundaries, Sport, Politics, and Protest, The Darker Side of Sport, and Selling Sport, this course examines the historical contributions of select individuals from North America and around the globe in the shaping of modern sports and the ways in which they stirred the sporting passions of their contemporaries, and in many cases, continue to do so for this generation of sport fans.
