Applied Quantitative Data Analysis for Social Work Research
0.5 Credit

This course enables students to understand and apply methods of quantitative analysis to social work research topics. A variety of statistical techniques will be covered including chi-squares, t-tests, one-way ANOVAs (analysis of variance), correlation, bivariate and multiple regression (linear and logistic), as well as some non-parametric tests. The techniques taught may vary according to students' learning needs. Subject to students' experience and understanding of foundational statistical analysis, the course will cover multivariate data analysis techniques such as factor analysis and MANOVA (multiple analysis of variance). Through hands-on assignments, students will develop competencies in applying and interpreting these techniques.
