This course explores intermediate practices for critical game design, including the expression of ideas, beliefs, and values through algorithms, interfaces, and automated procedural systems. Students will learn the fundamentals of digital game design using a software development kit to create various digital games that convey particular ideas, beliefs, and values. Software for this course will emphasize the logic and workflows of digital game design, offering students with limited to no background in programming an accessible means of engaging with the material.
