Forensic Laboratory Methods I

This course is designedto combine scientific knowledge with laboratory experience in forensics related to DNA analysis and trace evidence. Students will learn laboratory techniques such as DNA profiling used to identify individuals based on biological samples and spectrophotometry which can help to determine the difference between human and animal fluids andhas many other roles in forensics. Critical discussion of these laboratory methods including their shortcomings will be included in this course.
