This course explores Muslim conceptions of the soul and psychotherapy within religious and spiritual frameworks. Students place contemporary models and psychotherapeutic approaches in dynamic conversation with the psycho-spiritual strategies of traditional Sufi systems and sages, incl. Abu Hamid al-Ghazali (d. 1111).
