Reading Seminar on Race & Gender in the United States, 1608-1877

This historiography seminar examines Colonial America and the United States through the lens of race and gender relations, and examines their impact in the new nation. Potential topics include Indigenous-Colonist relations, indentured servitude, slavery, debates over race, sexuality, and class, and clashes over political and social rights.
