While considering the legacy of ancient Indigenous history and centuries of Indigenous autonomy, HI344 focuses especially on Indigenous Peoples under colonialism. Topics may include ancient Indigenous Canada; contact(s); fur trade(s); encounters with Christianity, destruction of the Beothuk, government policies for Indigenous peoples, Native activism; and cultural reclamation.{C}
