Literary Adaptation in Hispanic Cinema

Taught in Spanish. Literary adaptations are usually considered to be secondary forms of the original. This course explores original literary works and their cinematic adaptation. In the process, the possibilities and limitations found in the process of adaptation will be analysed. Students will explore issues relevant to each medium as well as larger questions related to adaptation, style, translation and interpretation.
