The Contemporary Caribbean: Crime and Human Security

This course focuses on the proliferation of crime and its impact on human security within the Caribbean region and the Caribbean diaspora. Among other things, the course takes a critical look at human rights violations, human trafficking, kidnappings, drug wars and drug related crime, organized crime and corruption. A segment of the course focuses on various bilateral initiatives with countries like Canada, the U.S., and England to combat crime.
