Clinical Improvisation II: Balancing Form and Freedom in Music Psychotherapy
0.5 Credit

Students learn to work within a clinical framework situated in music psychotherapy, and develop clinical musicianship through the practice of structured and improvised techniques for clinical interventions. Students learn about the balance between music and words in clinical improvisation with diverse client populations. Because this course links directly with Music Psychotherapy Placement I (MU504), music psychotherapy issues are critically analyzed in class.
