0.5 Credit

Hours per week:
  • Lecture/Discussion: 3

Why are many businesses interested in their own histories? Students will use case studies to investigate how corporate heritage and historical knowledge shape business behavior and strategy. These investigations will lead to a deeper understanding of how historical meaning creates value for customers, employees, and local communities, as well as familiarity with the ethics of using historical research for corporate purposes. The course will include experiential learning components with a private sector partner to provide real-world insight into how corporate history is transformed into corporate heritage.
