Students develop a team-based digital research project using open access/source tools for deployment through a content-management system. Topics include: introduction to computer hardware and software basics; exposure to simple programming concepts through languages such as Python and HTML; basic audio, image, and video manipulation; and aesthetics and ethics in written and multimedia documents.

Notes
1. Previous experience in these areas is not required but access to a personal computer featuring a recent release of either OS X or Windows is essential.
2. This course affords entry to the Design and Application pathway of the Applied Digital Option. Students interested in pursuing this option are strongly encouraged to take this course.
