The Third World Since 1945

This course will examine the rise and fall of the ideology of the "Third World" after 1945 within the context of postwar global history. Topics will include decolonization and revolutions in Africa, Asia and Latin America, the development project in the global south, the origins and course of the ideology of "Third Worldism" as a tool of nonalignment, and the legacy of decolonization in the postcolonial world.{G}
