The Middle East and the Cold War
0.5 Credit

This course offers students an opportunity to examine the history of the Middle East during the Cold War. The overall framework of the course is the relationship between Middle Eastern countries and both the United States and the Soviet Union. However, the course will require students to explore aspects of Middle Eastern history other than international relations: these will include dynamics within the region, as well as political, economic, social and cultural developments specific to individual countries.{G}
